Have a story about your own inheritance loss you'd like to share?

I'm looking for a few more for the book. It can be your story or a family member's, as long as you have first-hand knowledge. If desired (and necessary due to a non-disclosure agreement), anonymity will be maintained. In fact, I'll even sign a non-disclosure agreement for you on my end.

Thus far I have stories about people putting money in safe deposit boxes due to Y2K (they never bothered to put it back into bank accounts, especially since interest has been so low since 9/11), being African-American and not trusting banks because of blacks being cheated by banks as recently as the 1970's, and fear remaining from the Great Depression. Some people buried money in their yards or hid it in a shed. Some of their family friends dug the money up while they were at the deceased's funeral!

I have received some good stories and will select from them only the most intriguing ones for the book and which will allow me to provide the most helpful information on how to protect and leave an inheritance.
